The Honeymoon Guru met Sarah & Thomas a few months back through google.  They were searching for a travel agent who specialized in honeymoons only and could help customize them a special honeymoon trip to Costa Rica.  Sarah & Thomas were great to work with and the Honeymoon Guru had no problem deciding on the perfect place for them and recommending the activities they should do after we spoke on the phone and by email.  I am so happy to hear that you guys had a great time and thank you very much for offering the review below and your great pictures.

We had a fantastic time!!  Costa Rica was amazing and beautiful!  We got to do some adventure tours and spend LOTS of time relaxing by the pool and on the beach.  The food was wonderful and the service was
great too.

Thank you for setting up a fantastic honeymoon for us.  We could not have done that on our own and your help is greatly appreciated!  If there is a place to write a review I would be happy to do it!  :-)

Ashley & Eric: Saint Lucia, Jamaica and Much More

The Honeymoon Guru wanted to share a great experience by some repeat honeymoon clients I have had for a few years now.  The Honeymoon Guru met them back in 2009 and was more than pleased to help customize a great honeymoon for them to Sandals Grande St Lucia.  They were great to work with and had a great time being their honeymoon travel agent.  I have gotten to know Ashley & Eric very well, so I know what their preferences are and what is and isn’t important to them and they are so good about letting me use all my knowledge and experience to help plan each and everyone of their trips.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Skip has provided us with two great vacations! The first being our honeymoon to St. Lucia (Sandals Grande) and the second to Negril, Jamaica (Breezes.) We are currently planning a third anniversary vacation and could not be happier to work with Skip again! He is so easy and pleasant to work with! He really takes care of you! I highly recommend Skip to plan your Honeymoon or next get-a-way!

St. Lucia Sandals Grande (2009) was absolutely amazing. The views are breathtaking and the resort is beautiful and well kept.  We enjoyed the clear blue water, zip-lining, whale watching and the company of many other honeymooners! Sandals not only had a great beach, they had a huge pool with swim-up bar. The drinks were tasty and the food was satisfying!  Snacks were available all day, as well as room service.  Sandals provided a complimentary photo shoot, which captured many memories of us at the resort. The pictures or a picture CD could be purchased. We love these photos more than our engagement shoot. We could not have asked for a better honeymoon! We definitely want to go back!

Jamaica Breezes Negril (2010) was also a lot of fun, not as beautiful of a landscape as St. Lucia, but just as satisfying.  This vacation was purely to relax and this was the perfect place. Each day, we’d start with a made-to-order breakfast and then enjoy the calm water and sunshine! Our favorite was sun-tanning on the Breezes rafts in the water watching the hundreds of butterflies fly accross the ocean.  Breezes had excellent restaurants and top shelf drinks.  We looked forward to dinner each night and the entertainment.  Our favorite was the Hibachi grill! The staff at this resort really made a point to get to know you.  Many of the staff learned our names! We only left the resort once to visit Rick’s Cafe (on the top 1000 things to do before you die) and experience the cliff diving!  It was awesome! This is also a place, we would go back!

Two New Nonstop Ways To Cancun From Austin

Starting on February 19, 2011, both Delta Air Lines and Continental Airlines will inaugurate nonstop service from Austin to this popular Caribbean destination.

Delta flights will depart Austin on Saturdays at 7:45 AM arriving in Cancun at 10 AM.  Nonstop return service on Delta departs Cancun on Saturdays at 10:50 AM and arrives Austin at 1:30 PM.

Continental’s nonstop flight departs Austin on Saturdays at 8:25AM and arrives in Cancun at 11AM.  Return nonstop service departs Cancun on Saturdays at 11:55AM and arrives Austin at 2:40PM.

Sandals Montego Bay Anniversary Trip: Rett & Kim/Kyle & April January 2011

Back at the beginning of December, my friend Kyle who owns Danashay Marketing, contacted me and wanted me to help he and his friend Rett plan a quick anniversary trip to Jamaica.  After speaking with both of them and working on their preferences and budget, the Honeymoon Guru thought Sandals Montego Bay would be a good fit, especially since my last visit back in October and looks like it was right on these anniversary couples.

Glad to hear it all worked out well and sounds like the activities were fun as well.  Thanks again Kyle & Rett for the kind words and pics.  Congrats again to you all.

Hey Skip,
Thanks again for the help putting our trip together.  We went for our 10 year anniversary and it was perfect.  The Vow Renewal was more than expected and had lots of options and details that just made everything memorable.  We added the photo package and really enjoyed Marva our photographer.  The Resort itself was great and had a beautiful beach.  The staff work very hard to make sure you could do what you would like and did it with a great attitude.  Captain Patrick took us on a private snorkel trip, to the private island and some shopping also.  I would say the best shopping during our stay was found on the resort itself (vendors), the gift shop, and the airport as we left.  We did the bamboo rafting down the Martha Brae and it was relaxing even the vendors there weren’t pushy.  We also did the sunset cruise on the Red Dread and enjoyed the Island History from the Captain on the way back.  By far the best entertainment was the Silver Birds Steel Drums, but we enjoyed them all and won our share of prizes.  Robert in the Oleander Room Restaurant was by far the best waiter on the resort.  This was our first Sandals experience and we could not say enough about it.  We really enjoyed every minute and were sad to leave.  Jamaica is a beautiful island and the people on the resort made it great.  Thanks again -Rett & Kim

Letty & Mark: El Dorado Royale Destination Wedding January 2011

The Honeymoon Guru was very glad to help Mark & Letty customize their destination wedding to El Dorado Royale in the Riviera Maya this past January.  Letty and Mark were a referral from another destination wedding couple I had and I was glad to help them customize this travel for over 40 guests coming from all across the United States.

I really appreciate the kind words that Mark & Letty shared with me and the photos.  As she mentioned, it was a challenge at times, but I was able to help ease everyone’s tension and was even to help the father of the bride with his apprehension on traveling to Mexico and sounds like he had a fantastic time and is looking forward to me helping him return.

The Honeymoon Guru was referred to me by my good friend Lisa who planned her own destination wedding with Skip.  My husband, Mark, and I decided to get married in Mexico because we wanted a tropical location that offered warm temperatures in January. I spoke with Skip on the phone about what we wanted and from there he put me in touch with the El Dorado Resort.  I have never planned a wedding much less via the internet, but Skip helped me through it all and answered my endless questions.  Despite all the stress and worry I put myself through everything turned out better than I expected!  The hotel staff at the El Dorado bent over backwards to make my wedding beautiful. My guests said they had a fantastic time. Also, Skip did a wonderful job with last minute additions and one apprehensive father-of-the-bride.  My dad later said he had a great time and plans on calling Skip to plan a trip for himself. Next year, Mark and I will take our honeymoon… Skip standby for a call.  Thanks again for all the hardwork. We could not have pulled this off without you!

Honeymoon Guru Update

Well, there have been so many of you that have contacted me about all the changes and additions to the business and I am so appreciative on your thoughts and concerns.  To let you all know, Gaby & Greta have been on medical leave due to some surgeries, but are on the road to recovery and will be returning to the new Maui office shortly.  Can you believe it, hire 2 new ladies and then they take medical leave.  Unreal, but I let it slide of course :)

I have made a few trips back and forth to Maui and will have pics shortly on the new office there along with the new associates in full action…   The Honeymoon Guru also is in pursuit of another office in the Riviera Maya.  That is currently in process and will update you guys shortly on how that is coming.

In the meantime, here are a few pics of that so called “medical leave” for Gaby & Greta.

Honeymoon Guru New Associates!!

Well, I am pleased to announce that Honeymoon Guru has been able to add 2 new associates to the team.  After doing a nationwide search and hours upon hours of interviews and traveling to find just the right fit for these specialized positions, I am very happy and pleased to find such highly qualified associates.  Their  intelligence is very high and I have high hopes for their training in the areas of accounting and sales/marketing.  After their training, they will be located in our new Maui office.   Please help me welcome Greta & Gabriela to the team.
