The Honeymoon Guru wanted to send a great big thanks to my wedding vendor friend Kathy Reese the owner of Dragon Fly Designs here in Austin. Kathy approached me several months ago and wanted me to customize a pampered, no-stress vacation where everything was first class and small in size. I immediately knew the perfect spot for them which was El Dorado Maroma. Sounds and looks like she and her husband had a great time. I’m so glad to hear they enjoyed El Dorado Maroma as much as I do. Dear Skip,
Brian and I are so thankful for your recommendation to vacation at El Dorado Maroma on the Mayan Riviera. The resort is amazing and the staff could not do enough for us. The word “no” is not part of their vocabulary.

The lush landscape, views, beautiful beach, luxurious room, and excellent service was so much more than we expected. The reason for our vacation was total relaxation and El Dorado Maroma is the perfect place for this. We never had to lift a finger. We both indulged in the 50 minute Beach Sky Massage, which was so relaxing and just what we needed.

The Honeymoon Guru was happy to help Kyle & April plan a honeymoon to one of my favorite boutique resorts outside of Playa Del Carmen, which of course is El Dorado Maroma. I have known Kyle for about 2 years now as a great wedding vendor friend with Hotels for Hope here in Austin. When Kyle contacted me about helping plan a surprise honeymoon for April, I was of course honored to help and when he told me what they wanted, I knew that a perfect fit for what they wanted on their honeymoon would be El Dorado Maroma.

“April and I had a wonderful time at El Dorado at Maroma Beach. The resort was beautiful and the service was excellent. It was a plus to have the Marina next to the resort, especially since we did a couple excursions and didn’t have to get transfers. I am also big on food, and happy they provided many selections (and the 24 hour room service!). It was definitely a great experience and am looking forward to going back soon!

Destination Wedding Enhancements at El Dorado & Azul Resorts by Karisma

The Honeymoon Guru has been friends with Angela for over 4 years now as a wedding vendor friend. Angela always told me that when she got married she knew exactly who she was going to use and I always told her I would be here to help her out. She has always been great at referring people my way to help customize their honeymoon or destination wedding, so to say the least, I was absolutely thrilled when she told me she got engaged. I worked real hard on listening to what she and Houston wanted and I knew that after listening to them, that El Dorado Maroma would be a great fit for what they wanted on a honeymoon. I am glad to know that I was right on referring them to El Dorado Maroma and even more tickled to know that they took great care of them and they actually met another couple there and have stayed in touch with them. I cannot express how much Angela has meant as a friend and a colleague. I have always worked hard on not only being a honeymoon travel agent vendor for her and her business, but as a friend as well. We have used Skip and Amy to make all of our travel arrangements for the last several years, so when it was time to start thinking about our honeymoon, letting him take care of the details was the only option there was. He and Amy are wonderful at their jobs and customer service is their top priority. They helped us narrow down our list of places that we had in mind to a few great choices and after talking to a few of their past clients, we decided on our dream honeymoon location. Kyle & Gina were a great couple I got to work with to customize a great honeymoon for them to El Dorado Maroma outside of Playa Del Carmen. Sounds like from Kyle, the Honeymoon Guru has another satisfied client and they have found a good travel agent not only for their honeymoon, but for future vacations as well. Skip – thanks so much for putting together the perfect honeymoon for us! We wanted 3 things – beautiful beach, great food, relaxing environment – and you knocked the ball out of the park with all 3. First of all, Maroma beach (where El Dorado Maroma is located) is amazing. With just a short hike north of our hotel we felt like we were walking on a beach you only see on postcards. The food was delicious and ingredients were superb (biggest shrimps I’ve ever seen!). Just like you assured us, they would make anything for us…we just had to ask. Finally, the atmosphere was perfect for a honeymoon – the beaches were never crowded and we didn’t have to make reservations. We could really do anything whenever we wanted and never felt like we were on a schedule.

Thanks for putting together such a great trip and making it so easy for us, we just had to show up at the airport on time. And, it was great for you to keep an eye out on us from across the gulf – Amanda (I think that was her name) came over and checked on us while we were on the beach and said you wanted to make sure we were having a great time.

Thanks again, and we’ll be in touch next time we need to plan a big vacation.

I had intended to get back to y’all much sooner but life after honeymoon/vacation/El Dorado Maroma is much more hectic and a bummer. Jessa and I wanted to express our deepest appreciation for all of your help in planning the perfect honeymoon. We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly and can’t thank you enough.
